Rural Enterprise Hub secures approval

It may have taken many years to finally come to fruition but in October 2022, CTPL secured approval for the Beeches Group’s Rural Enterprise and Business Hub at Upper Icknield Way, Tring. This was no mean achievement since the site - comprising former poultry buildings - lies within the Metropolitan Green Belt and the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Over a period of 4 years a series of permissions, prior approvals and lawful development certificates were secured for office, storage and commercial uses in the redundant agricultural buildings. This provided the basis for the redevelopment proposals for just over 1,000sqm of office and related space for the client, Noble Foods and other future occupiers in a state-of-the-art and sustainable building to be built of brick, glass and timber cladding with a biodiverse-green roof. The application was finally accepted by Buckinghamshire Council (Aylesbury Area) as the suitable redevelopment of a previously developed site, which was ‘appropriate development’ in the Green Belt preserving its openness, along with an enhancement of the AONB whilst also providing economic, employment and many other benefits.
